Suspect Poses As Courier In Hamilton Street Home Invasion

A man dressed as a courier robbed residents at a home on Hamilton Street in Hyattsville Friday.

Hyattsville City Police are asking residents to be cautious after a man dressed as a courier invaded a home on the 4000 block of Hamilton Street Friday morning. According to a Nixle alert put out by the City of Hyattsville, the suspect is describe as a light-skinned black male, 5 feet, 11 inches tall, medium build. He was dressed in an official uniform from a well-known delivery company, although city staff would not releasing the name of the company. The suspect displayed a black semi-automatic handgun and took a small amount of cash and some personal items from the home, according to the alert. Police believe he had an accomplice. Hyattsville Police Seek Help Finding Home Invasion Suspect

A woman was beaten in her Nicholson Street apartment early Tuesday morning.

A woman was beaten in her Nicholson Street apartment early Tuesday morning by an unknown man who allegedly entered her home through an unlocked kitchen window, according to a Safe City Alert issued by the Hyattsville Police Department within the last hour. At 3:30 a.m. officers responded to an apartment in the 2600 block of Nicholson Street (Kirkwood Apartments) for a home invasion robbery. The victim said that she woke up to find a masked man in her bedroom, who demanded money and began to beat her when she tried to fight him off. The victim allegedly was hit in the face multiple times and choked.
