Mom and daughter bond over book reading.
Many of my columns are written about the triumphs and challenges I face being a mom. But it's comforting to know that I’m always in good company. A zebra is a “zeeba” and an elephant … well let’s just say she gets the syllables right. But it’s so easy to spend a lot of time there, have lunch and then baby starts her nap in the car on the way home. She ran around with friends, laughed at the …

This week's question for you to ponder.
Although the County's call is based on the information available hours before school starts, what considerations do you wish they would take into account before declaring a snow day? Do you think they should make the call later in the morning, or is finding out early critical to your family's transportation plans?
