Lonni Moffet, Neighbor

Lonni has been involved with community media in one form or another for the last 30 years and is excited to be part of this hyper-local online community. She started in video during the 70s when recording equipment filled up the trunk of her car, and is thrilled to be able to shoot video from her phone!

Lonni is principal of Moffet & Associates, "Building Community through Communication" assisting local governments, non-profits, educational institutions and the music world with communications technology and strategy.She also serves on Hyattsville Community Development Corporations's Board of Directors.

She previously worked for the City of Takoma Park, as an Editor at Consumers Checkbook Magazine and is a long time member of the Alliance for Community Media. Lonni is President of CAPATOA, the National Capital Regional Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors. 

Originally from Chicago and Michigan, Lonni has been in the DC area since the early 80's, and in Hyattsville since 1997. She studied Psychology and Communications in college and Telecommunications Policy and Research in graduate school.

Lonni spends her free time biking on the many glorious trails in our little section of Prince George's County, swimming at PG Pool, and in pursuit of live music and dancing with her husband. They live in the house with the mannikin on the front porch with their daughter, two dogs and a cat.
