ReplyThere aren't any potentially embarrassing photos of me on facebook or elsewhere, but I'm still not a fan of the timeline. It really does make me consider deleting my page and perhaps start fresh. But that would not solve to my objections of the timeline design. It's so MySpacish.

ReplyI think it's a difficult thing to balance. On the one hand, the celebration was akin to a big sports victory - perhaps in this case on the Olympic level because of the National pride being shown. It's not really a proper way to mark such a big moment, but what is? I think the celebrations were well-intentioned and sincere and people just mark and experience occasions in the way they know how.
For my part, I wasn't on assignment and was pretty much just joyriding taking these pictures. That's the way I know how to mark and experience occasions so I am just as guilty as anyone else.
