ReplyI sit here in Ottawa, Canada with a heavy heart, unable to shake the emotions filling me all weekend. I created this photograph on Friday afternoon http://500px.com/photo/20598317 , out of sheer desperation wanting to do SOMETHING. Both my kids are grown now, but my heart is broken for the parents and the families involved. So far, I've only sold one copy of the picture from the online site. I've contacted the bank in Newtown asking for information on how to get the funds there. I expect I'll hear from them Monday. The MONEY will be sent, by the memory of those lost, I promise. Love and hugs to all suffering. From a heavy heart in Ottawa, Canada.

On the Blog Post Banning Guns is Not the Way to Go

ReplyFirst of all, I don't think ANYONE in their right mind, is suggesting that it would be POSSIBLE, let alone advisable, to Ban guns in the USA. Your death toys are too entrenched in your cultural identity to ever suggest that anyone could possibly take them away from you. But you CAN and SHOULD make it MUCH more difficult to obtain guns. This is what is needed. Stricter gun control. Not Banning them. (except for automatic weapons).

On the article Police: Safety of All CT Schools Being Examined in Wake of Sandy Hook Shootings

ReplyDear Newton, Connecticut:
American's need to effect total outrage over this tragedy, equal to 9-11, and not just for those 20 innocent 6 year old children, but for the adults killed, their families and relatives too.Imagine if America stood by after 9-11 and said, "Oh well, it's sad, but that's just the way things are."
Enough already, change the damned paradigm. Strict and enforced gun control. Total ban on all automatic weapons in civilian hands. Ammo taxes. It's a start. Will it solve every problem relating to violence, of course not. But it's a start.
Our collective anger needs to work for the memories of those lost.We are angry and completely heartbroken in Canada too.
All our love, strength, peace and prayers to those affected families.

The photo I created for the kids and adults who died a week ago, has raised a little bit on money. http://500px.com/photo/20598317 As of ten minutes ago, the money, (plus some of my own) was sent to the Sandy Hook Support Fund, via my credit card.
I am posting this in response to the nasty emails I received from people who find it inconceivable that any effort like this could be genuine, and they accused me of trying to profit off of this tragedy. All I can say is the donation has been made this morning and I keep those families close to my heart and thoughts.
All our Love and support to all the parents, families and friends of the victims.
