Artists Use Silence To Protest Trayvon Verdict

A group of artists gathered for two hours of silent creativity on Monday evening to protest the verdict in the Trayvon Martin case in Florida, handed down over the weekend.

The event was organized by Art Works, a studio school in Mount Rainier. The event continued until 7 p.m.

Participants, numbering about a dozen, gathered at the Rhode Island Avenue school to paint, draw or otherwise find a creative outlet through which they could express their reaction to the verdict.
